Hello friend, my name is Claudette but my friends call me Claudea. I’m passionate about home and family. I believe that service to our families and others is a noble work that pleases and glorifies God.
Ministry Homemaking is a place for inspiration, encouragement, and celebration of this meaningful calling. I invite you to come along-side me on this beautiful journey together.
Let me get started by telling you what you’ll find around here.
What This Site Is All About:
“[Older women] are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.” -Titus 2:3-5
These few incredibly powerful and enlightening verses sum up beautifully what this site is all about.
My goal is to come alongside you in our glorious calling as homemakers. Together we can thrive in our ministries as women, wives, mothers, friends, and homemakers. Here’s a look at what I write about:
• Fellowship and Encouragement
• Home organization and decor
• Marriage and Relationships
• Faith and Ministry
• Womanhood and Modesty
I currently post every Monday (this may increase later) …Be sure to add me to your Bloglovin feed and never miss a post!
I am the beloved daughter of my Heavenly ABBA (Father). Adoring wife of twenty years to the love of my life and smitten mother of three not-so-little’s spaced almost exactly ten years apart.
I’m a nostalgic dreamer. I cherish every single experience that I share with my family and friends. Even though I am a novice, I love beautiful photography, the color pink, just about anything that contains caramel, surprises, and the intoxicating sound of a child’s laughter.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work and a Masters in Technical Education. I found my passion serving families struggling with court mandates, family reunification, parenting/child development and healthy relationship navigation.
What that really means is that I love working with families …about family!
Honestly, It had been on my heart for several years to leave the workforce to be home with my family. Looking back, I now know that God had been speaking to me and I wasn’t being as obedient as I like to think I am. I was worried about the never-ending slew of bills, kids college tuition, and vacations not-yet-taken…all the wrong stuff.
Then in January of 2017, God made the choice to leave my beloved career blatantly obvious. I happily left my career behind, and as a bonus, He helped me turn away from my persistent disobedience.
Funny how He does things like that sometimes!
My youngest son was 7 years old at the time and my only daughter was 15 yo. (I have an older son that is grown and out of the house as well).
Truth is…I was sick and tired of missing out on their lives and the activities that they were participating in. I was tired of the hour and a half commute one way; back and forth to my job. Tired of my husband having to take on the brunt of the housework and raising of our children because I just wasn’t there doing what God has specifically for me to do. I was, as my mother used to say, sick and tired of being sick and tired!
It was difficult at first being out the professional loop, I’ll admit. But you know what …I found my true passions …being obedient to God and serving my family. I LOVE being a homemaker, don’t you?
I’m So Glad You’re Here!
Now that you know a little about me, take a look around and see what you think. If there’s something you’re looking for and can’t find, feel free to leave me a comment or send me an email.
So where would you like to go next?
By the way, if you LOVE the watercolored logo and other images on my blog as much as I do, please check out Angie Makes. This amazing woman has SO much beautiful eye-candy on her site that it’s almost impossible not to find something to love…the girl is talented!
